Historic 911 Rally build

For anyone that likes to read about vehicle builds, I have a thread running about my build of a 911 SC for historic (pre '81) tarmac rallying on DDK and Impact Bumpers.

The threads are basically the same on each forum, but to access the IB site, you have to register, although I guess some members here are already active on there..

Donor Car - A 1978 911 SC

Stripped, ready for acid dipping

Returns from the dipping process

Chassis strengthening and roll cage fitting begins with jig verification

Fully Tig welded rollcage to period FIA appendix K

Car is about to be painted, so next update will see it in colour, been a lot of work so far, look forward to sharing it painted, and await views on my controversial colour choice

If you asked me the same question beginning of the year, I would have said by now ! - I guess it will be done end of September, but really it will be in preparation for next year. There is no particular deadline really

I know the feeling, these projects soak up months & months on the smallest detail. Will be worth it in the end

well spotted Clive

I wanted to choose a colour that was different to every other competition 911 out there, something that will be recognised as a Tech 9 car.
Once its finished with its stripes etc, should be fairly distinctive

Could get sponsorship from British Telecom and get an old transit to tow it, complete with ladders on the roof for effect
