Any opticians on here

I went varifocals a few years back. You have to pay proper to get decent lenses but when you do they are magical. No matter where i look I get 2020

Blimey, Would you have it done again?

I though corrective surgery was only good for 5-10 years?

i know ! It was a stupid risk at the time but young and contacts were a bit crap back then!

my sight is still great for distance , just need glasses for reading which doesn’t bother me these days !

Mines been getting worse since late 30s. Can no longer read restaurant menus in dimmed lighting or food labels when small. Pretty annoying tbh as I do have glasses for computer work but don’t wear them generally so tend to forget them when going out. End up using iPhone with torch looking like a plonker.

need bionic implants ASAP. And not the shitty 2pixel by 2 pixel stuff they can do now. I want a massive fucking upgrade. Hubble eyesight!
This is me too! I've noticed over the last year that my vision for near field is terrible, I have to hold my phone further away and reading small print on stuff is harder, especially in poorly lit areas. At work I now have a magnifier angle poise LED light for seeing detail on components etc, useful for my line of work. I also have some +1.5 specs for looking at things on my desk but don't need them often, I should really go and get a proper prescription!

Eye exam today... everything tip-top. Long vision is perfect, close up reading is usual age related degeneration.

Monthly contacts ordered & ready to be fitted & coached by the optician on how to use them... soon. Can't wait to get these sorted and stop messing about with specs!

Was this done at Specsavers or a more specialist establishment?
