A perfect candidate for PGT, I got chatting to Joe again recently and thought he’d fit in perfectly here! Some more fresh blood, he likes good cars and most importantly using them! He’s known by a few people on here already also, a south east Londoner now down in Kent!

His car history is:

106 Rallye
205 GTi
Mini Cooper S
E46 M3
986 Boxster S
Cayman GTS
981 Boxster Spyder
996 GT3
Current car: Cayman R track car

Ive grown up in a petrolhead family so my love of cars was a foregone conclusion. Since I passed my test ive gone through some of the best french hot hatches right up to some of Stuttgarts finest.

Im a firm believer in using cars properly and in the main means trackdays. From 2010 onwards ive been to the ring almost every year but most recently have been enjoying an annual pilgrimage to Spa with plenty of uk trackdays in between.

Im fortunate that my old man shares my passion and has his own collection of cars which are used properly and not just polished. This currently stands at:

Alfa 147 GTA track car
997.2 GT3 Clubsport
205 GTi 1.9
964 C2 with full RS running gear and engine.

Hope he can get involved in both online and in real life!

Cool & welcome, had the pleasure of meeting Joe and his father, both in their GT3's at Spa and a few other tracks over the years, great guys :)

He sold a 996 GT3....

,,,ban him, quick. Or burn him at the stake...ok, ok, maybe just the Iron Maiden!

Ohh trackdays! So i live in West Malling in Kent so my local track is brands but due to noise have struggled there recently so most of my uk track time has been at Snetterton.

Since I got the Cayman GTS ive been to Spa for at least two days a year ive found it has the feeling of the ring without the financial horror.

The last two times ive shared my Dads 997 GT3 which was slightly terrifying in October last year in the wet but great for just racking up laps.

Anglesey I loved but was tricky in the wet. Then ive done Bedford a few times which i find is always a good place to learn a car.

This year so far ive done Bedford in the Cayman. Have Brands the week after next and then Spa in October. Before i book anything else ive got some worked booked in to make the little Cayman a bit more focussed.

Thanks!

205 has just had a glass and engine out rebuild. Picking it up tomorrow!

I adore the things, so much fun at legal speeds.

When the old man got it just after my Mum died i got the original stereo rebuilt and re bought from ebay all his favourite albums on cassette. So it really can be a little timewarp car!

Ha yes!

Wasn’t your own 205 GTi white?

I seriously regret breaking and selling my white one that just needed a small amount of welding and a respray!

What work are you having done on the cayman?

Yes mine was, the red one is the current one went halves on with the old man.

Cayman goes in for GT3 master cylinder, then I have RSS LCAs on order to add in. Then im talking to Alcon who did my gt3 discs about an option to replace the Porsche cheese discs.
