18th October at Forest Edge Kart Club

1st November at Forest Edge Kart Club

You do not need an MSA licence to come along and drive on a practice day, there are seperate groups for novice drivers so there is no need to feel under pressure, just enjoy yourself at your own pace :)

We will be attending the Forest Edge practice day at the Barton Stacey circuit which is next to the A303 near Andover on Saturday 16th August.

This is a great circuit with lots of varity and room for everyone to be able to enjoy a great days karting which is ideal for both novices and experienced drivers.

We can supply the karts and all the equipment required for the day, no licence required :)

It's there any circuit info on Camberley.

At this rate I'm going to be qualifying thinking "is the next corner going left or right ?"

Dave interested in the 13th sept. What have you got available mate?

(Done a bit of club100 so would like a quickish kart, but nothing with a shifter!)

Also, what is camberley like? Looks very straight, and dare I say a bit dull for a karting track?

Dan, we have Gillard senior rotax max karts available which would be idle for you, these have 28 hp watercooled engines with electric start and centrifugal clutch so no problem if you have the odd spin :tu

Glenn, Clive, Ken and others have all been driving these at Whilton Mill with great success as they are fast, reliable and handle well.

Camberley is far more interesting to drive than it looks, as it has some undulation and camber to it that the photo doesn't really show. It is a short track but is ideal for starting on as its easier to learn the lines quickly so that you can get on the pace :D

If you want a full size, fast circuit then I would suggest Forest Edge as they do Saturday practice days.

I've added the following extra Saturday dates for Forest Edge to the front page;

6th September

4th October

18th October

What's the cost per driver Dave?

A fully prepared Senior max for the whole day is £300 and we can supply all the clothing, equipment and support you require for a great days karting :thumbup:

These are all current Gillard 010 racing karts that are capable of going out and winning at the top level, not just some old runabouts that have passed there prime :)

And how many sessions would you expect to be able to do in a practice day, Dave?

Sounds very interesting.

Depending on the numbers attending, you will have a minimum of 6 sessions but normally you would get 7 or 8 in day, these sessions are normally between 10 and 15 laps long depending on the circuit.

This will be plenty of track time for you, normally most people are pretty shattered by the end of the day..........apart from Glenn that is, who has a really high fitness level :D

We will be attending the following September practice dates;

Saturday:

6th September at Forest Edge Club

13th September at Camberley Kart Club

Wednesday:

17th September at Whilton Mill

So if one were to share with a buddy, we'd be looking at 3-4 sessions in the day?

That would be the worst case for Saturday practice days as they have to run different groups for all the classes.

The mid week days depending on numbers, are either open pit lane or at worst run in only 3 groups, ie cadets, junior and senior which means you would both get more tracktime.

Bayford Meadows normally run open pit lane during mid week test days, this is a really good circuit located at Sittingbourne in Kent.
