if you hit an animal like a pheasant it normally ruptures it's internal organs so all the happens is the meat tastes like shit...really.

We've never drained pheasants of blood, don't see why you'd need to? the only animal that really needs draining of blood is deer, but that's because if you don't you'll never eat another!
