Getting fed up with these muppetts

Guam

Newbie
Some time back I posted on another forum what I believed was the worst Paint protection installation I had ever seen, (believe me I have seen some bad ones in my time) most of them having come from one manufacturers dealers in the UK.

Well Today I saw the new contenter for the most abysmal attempt at installation I have ever seen. What makes this worse is that a car dealer arranged this for the client and actually signed off on it (or so it would appear) and handed the new RB320 onto the client in the most hideous condition you can imagine.

Fortunately Kev was at hand with a camera to document this travesty and hopefully can post the pics up for you to see. I was so appalled I told the owner I was ashamed to admit to being in the same Industry as these guys.

Frankly I am getting really fed up with seeing this kind of thing from the same manufacturers dealer chain and its time they fired some of them or they went away and found some other market to screw upl as they obviously have NO pride in their work (if you can call it work).

Rant OFF Kev please stick up in here if you wouldnt mind.

Cheers

Tom, just remember that you can capitalise off shoddy competitors. The more they fuck up, the better you look :)

Anyway you moaning old git.....do you do a full frontal for the Murci?

And if so, whats the 'special' deal for one of your fave customers! ;) (I'll buy the lunch this time!)

Problem is Moz you can't people see this Garbage dont know who did it and assume ALL PPF is the same, it was just heartbreaking to see this on someones new PAJ and have to apologise for the fact someone had done this to his car, we now have guys offerring full coverage without kits, over here who have limited experience in PPF and I have to shudder at what damage may be done to the confidence in the product concept:(

AS for your mota give me a buzz cos I want to do a complete coverage on the car :)

The Pics of Shame

Here we go pics of a so called "custom mod" of a compeitors patterns by one of their dealers, I have seen others almost as bad but this really does wind me up, customer paid £680 for this standard kit on a new RB 320 words fail me.

Cheers

Tom

PS Thanks To Oirish Kev for the pics :)

As you might have seen the other day on Pistonheads, the problem with one crap job is that people effected then tell everyone else that "film" in general is a waste of time

Hope all is well Tom, see you still have the orange Porsche :)

I'm not quite sure what I'm looking at there. Are the sharp white lines cuts to paint? Can someone explain what exactly is wrong with the pics above? I know the pics look crap, but a lot of the bother looks like muck that needs wiping away to me?????

I need to know because sooner or later I will need my car doing, once it has had a front end respray that is. I need to know how to judge quality and how to judge a fitter's reputation.

HI the guys on here who have seen proper jobs will tell you how that compares the dirt is UNDER the film as Kev can verify the film has been butchered by hand all over the car and there are numerous defects in install, patterning, cleanliness etc etc etc basically I could give film to my dog and it could probably have done better.

The guys can advise you on who to talk to when it comes to having your car done :)

Absolutely that is exactly the problem people see this and think we are all that bad, I am not saying that everyone doesnt mess up sometimes (its just an order of magnitude and response thing), our customers would never tolerate almost any defect I hate to think what they would do to us (rightly) for anyhting approaching this)

Oh yes still got the orange porker twas at reading today with the missus as Porsche wanted to see it now she is fully clothed in the stuff :)

Need a 997 for templating for the missing panels for FULL coverage BTW anyone up for a deal :)

I know it is difficult for the industry Tom - we have the same problem with Pikee's in ours, but your work is excellent and that gets around. You just need to differentiate yourself from the rest of the market. I think the orange cars might just do that!

As a full front I dont believe so will check with Joe, done some standard kits though.

Cheers
