T-Mobile trademark the colour magenta

But then Orange could trademark the colour orange (or at least their Pantone).

To trademark a colour when used in conjunction with a name or logo seems possible, but to just trademark a colour regardless of use, seems unlikely.

I cannot see that this would stand up in court.
If these stories are true, then someone should stand up to them and see what happens.

Lots of large haulage fleets have unique protected paint colours

The reason is they get accused of hitting cars etc that they may not have hit by people looking for someone to blame for their own stupidity !

The paint test can determine legally if indeed a truck in the fleet was to blame

Didn't O2 try suing one of the other phone companies a while back for using bubbles in the advert?

apparently O2 actually have the bubbles as part of thier trademark also.
