Easy - the driver must have been driving with it raised at a 45 degree angle (or it accidentally raised itself). When he hit the gantry, it broke off and he carried on with the rest of the lorry hence the picure you see.
I'd blame it on those annoying non-police speed safety check people, firing there "lasers" at cars and lorries. The "laser" must of cut through the cab, atomising the driver, but reducing his speed from a murderous 56 mph, back down to a child friendly 0 mph
