Lamborghini Murcielargo gets the detailfinish

Damon

King Kong
Well what can I say, the most amazing car I have detailed.

Moz’s Lamborghini Murcielargo.

The car is just stunning. It’s a petrolheads vision of automotive exuberance, extreme in everything it does.

The video is available here, worth a watch as you will see the finished result, hear the car and see some of the processes employed to get the detailfinish.

The detail...

The interior was done first. The lovely leather did have some grime in it, so it was out with the Gliptone Liquid Leather. This is one of my favourite parts of a detail as the matt and soft finish it provides always surprises customers.

There is a lot of leather in the interior of a Murcielargo so plenty of cleaning gel and then moisturising conditioner was used.

It was then time to start on the exterior of the car.

The wheels were cleaned first to ensure the worst of the contaminants on the car were removed before cleaning the body work.

I use the best wheel cleaner on the market, P21S Wheel Gel. Its Ph neutral and very expensive for such a product, but its the safest product to use on such valuable cars. I select only the best in class of all products for my business. You would be shocked by the amount of products I have purchased and rejected.

Combined with the best wheel brushes available, supplied by the Polishing Company, they create stunning results, I believe a good detail can really be let down by poor wheel detailing.

Once the wheels are done its on to the washing process. First the car is coated with a citrus-based pre-wash. The pre-wash loosens the dirt on the car and ensures the wash process is as gentle as possible, not introducing any defects. It also removes any protective products present and prepares the car to be further washed down before being completed with detailing clay.

The finest quality lambswool wash mitt is used to gently remove any dirt

Once the washing is completed, high quality detailing clay is then used to remove any bonded contaminants.
The car is then ready for the machine polishing process. Machine polishing is a highly skilled process that removes all swirls and scratches in the paintwork of your car. Its not a process to be taken lightly, done badly it damage the integrity of the paint on your car.

To protect rubber and plastic surfaces from the polishing process specialist tape from 3M is used.

Amusingly a bird decided to make its own contribution to the detail

Once the paint correction was completed, some 4 hours, the paint was finally prepared for waxes using Swissvax Cleaner Fluid. The Cleaner Fluid removes any small amounts of polish left and contains bonding agents that maximise the effectiveness of the Swissvax wax.

The only wax appropriate for such a special car is Swissvax Divine. Divine is Swissvax's premier wax and provides a deepness of finish that you will immediately see, but will also provide an amazing long lasting finish that you will appreciate more and more over time.

A very long day, but the results were worth it. The most enjoyable detail and the most in your face, visually stunning car I have ever worked on.

Damon,

An excellent write up and a fantastic job. I shall certainly be using your services when I have the RS all sorted.

How long do you think it will be before Moz has the Kosovan's remove the Divine with TFR ? !!

Nick

LOL

I spoke to Steve about that and he promised no-one but him washes it and he uses the gear I recommended.

To be fair the car had obviously looked after in the past, the paint had only minor marking from washing.

Great work as usual Damon..

This is my favourite picture..

And this one would make a lovely avatar for "somebody" :D

So the question is you ever detailed a Mustang ? And would you be prepared to ? ( i can collect 3 cars for you to do again, if you like... 2 x 997 porsches and the old ford jalopy)

Stunning work mate!!:bow

Quick question - the P21s wheel cleaner you use - would this strip the wax that I have put on my wheels (2x coats of collinite?). I just wash them with water and elbow grease at the mo to protect the wax, but some wheel cleaner would be better if poss?

Cheers :D
