Hi guys/gals

Here we a have a 1 year old RRS that required a bit of work

The usual wash and decontamination stages were carried out.

Clay bar removing contamination that washing alone will not remove.

Thanks for looking

I always wondered: how do you remove the swirls, i.e. are you polishiing them out by adding some material inside, or are you wearing out the vernish to make it even?

Sorry if it sounds like a stupid question.

They are completely removed by re-leveling the clear-coat/lacquer

that would imply "thinning" the clear-coat/lacquer - I assume this is not a process to use too often and hence the use of a paint thickness tool to measure how much is left.

Am i correct?

Sorry if it sounds naive, just trying to understand how this works.

Yes your correct, once a car is paint corrected it should never need that amount of work done again if its being washed correctly. You will of course pick up some marring over a period of time but all that should be needed is a very light machine polish with a finishing polish one a year to bring the paint back to high standard.

Excellent result with that RR :tu
