Ford GT 'black sausage' detailed

Boy Racer
Afternoon.

Completed this job last week. The solid black paint was looking a bit sorry for itself when viewed in direct light.

Pretty tough car to get right this one (as was apparent from the poor detailing job previously). Lots of tiny little bits to polish and lots of taping up and having to work with a very fine polish and soft pad to get the paint to finish down without the usual 'bodyshop esq' buffer trails everywhere

Before polishing showing where it had previously been taped up

Hopefully you can tell which panel has been polished in these photos :)

And all polished...

Some random fine but deeper lines remained but the clarity of the flat black was brought back.

Paint was then given 2 coats of Blackfire paint sealant along with other finishing touches such as wheels sealant, metal sealant on the exhaust tips, interior cleaned etc

and the final photos after about 18 hours work over 2 days...

Rob.........You looking for a clump?:bat::D

Thanks for the comments guys......this car amazes me too....never thought it would look this good.:yum:

Nathan...............A truely stunning job and I thank you.:tu

A lesson learned........I was recommended a local swede basher who was rumoured to be a mustard detailer (no Angus, not a detailer who specialises in mustard)......what a load of cobblers. I lived with it like this for too long before sploshing out on a proper job.

Nathan came up trumps and worth every penny, He spent 2 long days on this baby such as his attention to detail, he would not leave till he was 100% happy.

When you look into the deep black paint it feels like you could dive in it's that deep.:eek:

Now placed in its heated garage with its extremely soft cover on ready for a long and bleak winter.:cry

Nathan...................remember I have a black E Type waiting for you.:tu
