How do you know it's a Carl Zeiss Lens that was used for these pictures ??

I thought planar refered to the distortion free (no curvature away from the midpoint) so it compensates for being projected onto a flat surface from a 3d object.

Is it a brand name of Zeiss?

All Carl Zeiss Lenses are planar branded........... nit like Nikkor Nikon lenses.
