Family Fleet

InsBro

Ring Warrior
Family Fleet policies are aimed at Mid/High Net Worth families who own a mix of vehicles with the lead vehicle being valued around or over the £30,000 mark.

Vehicles include cars, classic cars, motorcycles and special types.

Cover can vary on individual vehicles ranging from accidental damage, fire and theft to comprehensive. Values of £1m in value for a single vehicle have been covered.
Specialist vehicles such as the Pagani Zonda can be covered as insurers have agreements to get the vehicle shipped back to Italy should the worst happen.

Family fleets of this nature can be flat rated, ie if a further vehicle is added , NCB is not required: any mix of vehicles can be included eg classics, motorcycles, sports & performance cars generally over group 15.

Policy features

Agreed value on ANY VEHICLE (this is an excellent way to protect against depreciation on high specification vehicles)
New Vehicle replacement cover
A quality courtesy car for the duration of the repairs (should the worst happen)
Unlimited cover for replacement of locks following loss of keys with no excess (some policies have a £250 or £500 limit, lock sets can easily exceed £800)
£500 Personal effects cover with no excess to pay
European Certificates
Contribution towards security
Aggregate mileage on a combination of vehicles
Moddified cars are not a problem

Interesting, at what point does this kind of policy become more economical than separate policies? Would a two vehicle family benefit or its its aimed at 3-4+ vehicles?

It can start with 2 - depending on the cars :D

We have a new insurer coming on board in the new year so we will have at least 3 carriers for family fleet

The additional Insurer should go live on the 1st Feb - they are just awaiting the stationairy

This insurer will also offer additional track day cover.

Jez, how would I deal with the fact that my renewal comes up in March but my wife's is not until August? Do I just ring her insurance company and ask for a refund pro rata? I'll call your office in early Feb for an indicative quote for my CSL (want it valued over 30k) and the wifes 4x4. At the moment paying £1500 for both cars with both of us on maximum NCB living in West London. Will also come to you when the old mans renewal comes up as him and my mum's car is nearing £100k value. I assume family policy means all cars have to be registered at the same address?

Any use on 3 cars worth 16k?

MY00 Astra Sri - 20k miles PA
MY53 Clio Cup - 12k Miles PA
MY90 Porsche 944 turbo - 5K gentle miles PA ;)

Insurance on all 3 comes in around £1350.

Jez - can one of the vehicles be commercial as I have a Double-cab pickup which I use for work, but have struggled to get it insured with the same people who insure the Porsche?

Great all the cars come up for renewal in July and August, so will get on to it nearer the time.

Cheers,

Chris

Jez, we have 4 cars in the household, a BMW 530, 993RS, MINI Cooper and a Smart. The BMW's insurance is the next one to run out, ??@August time. What's the best way to get a quote from you? Can I have a tel no. to call?

A couple of questions,

-all the cars have pretty much full NCB, what will happen to them?

-I use the RS mainly for trackdays, @@5-6 per yr as well as a Spa and Ring trip or two a yr. I'm not too worried about the uk tracks, but will the policy cover Spa and the Ring? and do I pay per track day, or is the cover included in the policy?

-if I make a claim on one of the cars, does the policy still continue to run as usual?

-do I need to pay extra for European cover?

-as for windscreen, do I have to use Autoglass, or can I choose to take to the dealer without having to pay the extra myself?

-my RS has the factory DriveBlock which is an immoboliser built into the ECU, and I really don't want to mess with the electrics by adding Thatcham alarm or tracker, will that be a problem?

-do I need an independant report/valuation for agreed values?

-do I get a curtesy car if an accident was my fault?

Sorry for a long list of questions, hope you don't mind.
