Car Magazine: BMW M3 saloon revealed

People with kids.

M3 and M3 CSL were excluded from a lot of parent buyers. I am lucky as my wife doesn't mind the difficulties getting kids in and out of a coupe.

RS4 always gave families the option so I believe BMW are ensuring they can sell to this demographic too.

But at the price they are now at, I think they are a bit beyond that type of buyer.

Plus, I guess other BMW types will look down on you for not getting the 3 dr.

A bit broad brush there Stuart, I could afford one. Having kids doesn't mean your car budget drops below this price range.

I just think that the average family man is not looking for £50K+ 4dr saloon.
The people with that sort of money will not have just 1 car, IMO.

Maybe I am wrong, but I am not sure there will be a sudden upswing in interest just because there are 2 rear doors. We'll see.

Stu has a point. But i'd look at it from the point of view that one could pick up a used m5 or something a good bit cheaper!

Some company car schemes specifically exclude 2 door cars - so keep your eyes peeled for the super salesman's saviour - there's method in their madness.
