Good evening.
As promised, here are the photos from the past 3 days working on Markm's Porsche 993 RS.
I posted a few photos as I went along so if your interested in seeing these and future cars you can follow us on or where there are lots more photos updated daily.
Also you can buy any of the products used on this detail from www.cleanyourcar.co.uk if you wanted to try detailing yourself
They also have a great loyalty points scheme that actually relate to real savings the next time you return.
This one was a bit tougher than expected and it took about 30 hours in the end. Customer offered to put me up for a couple of nights though so was pretty easy to just turn off the lights in the garage and carry on again the next morning.
The paint was extremely hard and was taking 2.5hrs - 5hrs per panel to perfect.
On this detail the paint was polished with a variety of products depending on the defects.
3m Fast Cut Plus on a cutting pad for the very bad defects
Menzerna 3.02 on a polishing pad to then reduce the polishing marks caused by the Fast Cut Plus
and then Menzerna 106FA finishing polish on a finishing pad to give a perfect refined finish.
The paint was then wiped down with Car Pro Eraser to remove polishing oils to make sure the paint was actually corrected.
Here are some before and after photos.
The bonnet was quite badly stone chipped but the deep swirls all came out nicely.
The front bumper had some DA sanding marks on it right at the edge.
Some more DA sanding marks on the top of the passenger wing.
And more sanding marks on the wing where it meets the bumper.
The passenger door after correction.
More DA marks on the rear quarter.
The rear lights were pretty dull so these were also polished.
Also the painted bar in the engine bay was pretty hazy and scratched. It didn't come up perfect but was greatly improved.
Around the rear number plate was pretty scratched as well from where old number plate stickers had been removed.
Swirls on the drivers door.
And finally.... yes... more swirls.
After all the polishing was FINALLY completed it was on with a layer of Zymol Vintage wax. Tyres and rubbers were dressed with Car Pro Perl. The exhausts were polished and the glass was cleaned but to be honest Mark does a great job of keeping the car clean and tidy so there wasn't much more for me to do so here are some final photos.
Thank you for looking and thank you to Mark and his wife for putting me up and for a couple of very nice meals and countless cups of tea while I was working my magic down in the garage.
Any questions please ask.
Nathan
