For those of your that don't follow me on social media... I have still been busy detailing in between my Autostore posts.
And for those that don't follow me on social media... here are some photos to prove it.
This 993 is owned by a good friend of mine. A bit of a more in depth project which I really enjoyed and I was given free rein to improve the car overall and choose the best suspension and wheel set up for him.
The car was bought with lowered but bouncy suspension, big wheels (too big!) and a body kit. The low suspension and the big wheels meant the rear wheels rubbed the arches pretty badly. It had also lived outside for a few winters and as a result the underside wasn't looking too pretty and the interior was pretty damp from a water leak.
To cut a very long story short... its finally finished and is now dry as a bone inside, no more rubbing wheels, no more bouncy suspension and to my eye, looks pretty stunning if I do say so myself.
All thanks too:
New front screen, bonnet seal, sunroof seal, wheels, discs, pads, calliper refurb, brake shields, dampers, springs and a bag full of various bolts, exhaust straps, heat shields and fixings that had corroded and needed replacing, repaired and re painted rear arches and new door handle rubber seals.
In stripping it down we also noticed a rather nasty rust hole. The rear chassis legs are a common rust location on 993 but this was particularly bad. All cut out and repaired thanks to Autostore.
It had been running some unknown lowering springs and the original green M030 dampers. There were swapped for H&R springs and Koni FSD dampers which gave a much more controlled ride without being crashy.
I went with the sport classic wheel which was an option on the 1997 and 1998 cars and fitted the narrow body perfectly and had them re furbished. The one thing my 70 year old friend vetoed was gold centres
I decided to leave what I discovered was a factory fitted Aerokit 1 spoiler and front flippers in place because they had been on the car from new.
And the icing on the cake was a good polish and Gtechniq coatings... oh and a new garage for him to keep it in so it stays in this condition now!!
Thanks for looking.
