BMW detailed- Volcano Ash and Bodyshop Damage

Jayplay

Newbie
Owner of this 525 contacted me after getting his car back from the bodyshop as it came back worse than when they collected it..., it had suffered damage from the Volcano Ash whilst he was on holiday for 3 weeks and came back to find it had etched into the paintwork. His insurer agreed to put the damage right along as he used their approved bodyshop.

Here is the car after the wash stages... not looking to bad right?

Have a closer look under some lighting- this is how the bodyshop left the whole car and failed to remove the volcano ash damage. Very poor workmanship

So the bodyshop's repairs seems to generally have been to wash the car with a dirty sponge?

Great restoration of the paint mate :tu

I cant belive how they left that car, when it's big body shops the workmanship is poor as they get the cars done and out the door, The way the car finnally turned out is amazing, great job.

 Great job. I've had a similar problem with BMW (Maidenhead) in the past where they've attempted to clean it and the finish was appauling. They then denied any wrong doing saying it couldn't have been them that left massive swirl marks all along the body panels from a polishing machine :finger. Can you PM me your details and provide me with a quote as I'm going to put the Z4M up for sale soon. Cheers Alex

Looks lovely now, how long did it take you to do do all the correction work?
thanks, in all it had 17 hours of work

Wow, the finished work looks stunning. In the close up shots of the 'before' pictures, the car looks like it could be an old jalopy. Hats off to you Sir.
