1964 Mercedes 230SL - 4 speed manual
£87,995
14,621 miles since rebuild

This car is well known to us having been in our storage facility from shortly after it underwent a complete nut and bolt restoration in the early 1990s. The full photographic record with receipts is available. The owner who undertook the restoration was meticulous in sourcing original parts where ever possible, and yes, it does have the front wing indents around at the headlights.

The car appears perfect in white with deep red leather interior and burgundy coloured soft top. The hard top in white also present. Following the restoration the owner who lived abroad, placed the car in our in our humidity controlled environmental storage. The car was only driven for short distances each year as shows in the MOT documents.

Following the purchase of the car by the present owner the car was given a full service by well known Mercedes Benz specialists Roger Edwards motors and the power steering box was rebuilt, a W123 electronic ignition system was fitted and a number of other minor faults corrected. The present owner has taken great care to ensure that the car has remained an excellent overall condition, it is regularly serviced by ourselves and as such, we know this car extremely well.

The car looks superb from every angle, it drives beautifully and draws huge crowds and admiration where ever it goes.

A manual 230sl is a fantastic thing to drive. Light on its feet and loves to rev. Hugely ahead of its time in terms of driving characteristics. For a fully rebuilt rhd car and assuming the work has been done right, it is not a bad price at all.

When you think that a contemporary porsche 356 had 90bhp, it must have looked like a rocketship with 150bhp.

Even today they are remarkably swift.
