Once engine bay was complete I turned my attention to the body work, with the car getting heavy track use it was covered in heavy tar and rubber so vehile was foamed twice before washing.

As the car is used on the track their was a build up of tar and rubber found throughout the exterior of the car so before claying I went around and removed the bulk of this tar using AS Tardis

Wheels were removed to fully clean the inners and remove the build up of tar and rubber. Once wheels were clean they were protected with Blackfire All Metal Sealant and tyres were treated with Zaino Z16

Arches were also given a good clean whilst the wheels were off

With the car clean and dry the paint work was then inspected and paint levels taken. General swirling was evident along with micro marring from a DA sanding disc .

Correction was carried out using Menz 203s on a polishing pad, some of the heavier sanding marks required Menz 3.02 to fully remove.

The black strips were vinyl so a gentle approach was taken to improve the swirling = menz 85rd and low RPM's which gave some great results

After correction was complete a light finishing polish was then used to burnish the paint to a perfect gloss.

Yes...the first time you take one if these out in the rain tehre's no going back.

Thats the trouble with these cars they just get shit everywhere:wall

Where to begin....

the pictures don't tell the full story. The car is incredible. It's better than when it was new. The paint is so smooth and soft (!?) that it looks like liquid metal (like a T1000...:haha: ).

I really didnt want to drive it, not to ruin such a great job, but with the paint protection Jay applied the car stayed immaculate even after 2 days of driving the horrible Surrey roads.

And Jay is a top man. I cannot recommend him enough....

In fact he's going to do the 993, the Cayenn and the RSR next!:tu

Love the motors :)
(ps - still have the Madmen things, want me to post?)

Jay:
Have you tried out the Bilt Hamber stuff yet ?
I think their products are truly fantastic, especially their Surfex HD for engine bay/wheels etc

yes I use Surfex HD, VERY good degreaser. Its what I normally use but wanted to use the last of the AG Powermax3 I had so used it on the engine bay
